How we are using Neuroscience to assess Conduct Risk

What we say and what we do are not always the same.

In fact, crunching the billions of datapoints we’ve gathered on our Neurotech platform, 84% of the things we say we do are not done at all (or to a much lesser extent.)

I’m not suggesting for one minute that most people tell outright lies when asked a question, but I am suggesting that the line between ‘doing’ and ‘intent to do’ is blurred, when people are pressed to answer and given the opportunity to moderate it.

So when it comes to the important and crunchy questions that CROs and Risk Managers ask of their organisation to assure Operational Risk Management, governance and regulatory compliance, how do they know with supreme confidence that the same effect isn’t in action? They have to go on trust and ride on the belief that their risk controls are established, honoured and effective.

Is this good enough?

It’s had to be, until now. Today, Truthsayers brings an alternative that exposes hard, metric data on how embedded risk controls and procedures are in the minds of an organisation. It measures risk sentiment. Backed up with Neuroscience and Psychology, we call this CONDUCT_R.

CONDUCT_R provides leaders with a ‘helicopter view’ of what employee cohorts really feel about the effectiveness and application of risk controls and procedures in their organisation. It taps into the non-conscious part of the brain, before moderation takes effect. Measuring the intuitive, gut-reaction, it gets to the truth where traditional surveys and questionnaires can’t. It is anonymous and secure, with data privacy at the core. There is nothing else like it in the market.

What CONDUCT_R does:

  • Measures the true ‘risk sentiment’ of respondents against four dimensions (Authenticity, Conduct, Risk Management and Whistleblowing) and 20 risk factors (out of the box, extendible and configurable)
  • Identifies the differences in risk sentiment between cohorts (seniority, location, function, etc)
  • Presents the change in risk sentiment over time
  • Identifies hidden correlations between risk factors
  • Provides a benchmark where your business stands in your industry

What CONDUCT_R doesn’t do:

  • Expose the results of individual respondents
  • Directly assess risk
